The NHCC announces an historical
exhibit on the African American community in central and southern New
Mexico in the
20th century. This exhibit is co-sponsored by the African
American Museum and Cultural Center of New Mexico, the NHCC, the Office
of African American Affairs and the McCune Foundation. It will remain
on view
through September 18, 2010. The exhibit opening will be followed by
three
symposia which will address the various trades and professions that
Blacks have operated in New Mexico since their
presence following the Civil War. Each will be held in the Wells Fargo
Auditorium on Saturday, July 31; Saturday, August 21; and Saturday,
September 11. For
