NHCC History and Literary Arts Programs

To date, we have had numerous successful literary programs including: regular book readings and lecture series, storytelling and workshops. We have also sponsored writer’s workshops that were held on campus, our most successful being the annual National Latino Writers Conference now in its fifth year. We are the presenters of the NHCC Literary Award. Rudolfo Anaya was our 2002 recipient and Denise Chávez, our 2003. Pat Mora received the award in 2006.
