NaturalMente, a group show in the National Hispanic Cultural Center's Community Art Gallery, features artists that incorporate natural forms and organic materials. The diverse range of media includes photographs by Fernando Delgado, Rita Padilla Haufmann's fiber art, mezzotint prints by Carol Sanchez, and Camilla Trujillo's pottery. Their work reflects inspired responses to nature and creativity. NaturalMente compliments Land/Art, a regional collaboration taking place in the summer and fall of 2009. The exhibition opens on July 17, 2009 and runs through May 30, 2010. Join us for the artists' reception, scheduled for the evening August 7, 2009 at 6pm.

The "Baile" program at the NHCC features a wide variety of teachers and dance styles. Classes are open to all ages and dance levels. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. This week's class will feature Ranchera dancing, Cumbia, Quebradita, Mexican Waltz, and more! The instructors are Alma Garcia and Pilar Alcazar. For information call 505/246-2261 ext. 167.

Confluencias: Inside Arte Cubano Contemporáneo is a major exhibition on Contemporary Cuban Art, which provides an exciting overview of what's happening now with significant Cuban artists and various media. The exhibition includes approximately 100 works by 40 artists working inside Cuba.
